6 MONTH SMILES
6 Month Smiles is a modern braces system that treats various orthodontic issues both quickly and discreetly. Short treatment times, combined with a low price tag, means that 6 Month Smiles is one of the most time- and cost-effective brace systems available today. The versatile nature of the system allows it to quickly correct crowded teeth and has become a life-changing treatment for many patients worldwide, including celebrities such as Tom Cruise.
What is 6 Month Smiles?
6 Month Smiles is an orthodontic appliance that uses nickel-titanium tooth-coloured wires that gently coax your teeth into position. One great benefit is the comfort 6 Month Smiles provides, achieved by using gentler forces and acting on fewer teeth in comparison to traditional braces. The greatest thing about this treatment, however, is the speed with which it rectifies crooked and misaligned teeth.
How Does It Work So Fast?
The device uses modern orthodontic techniques to shift your front teeth into place. As the name suggests, 6 Month Smiles will take on average 6 months to complete. This, however, may be shorter or, rarely, longer depending on individual cases.
Furthermore, 6 Month Smiles does not address major orthodontic problems and focuses on the teeth that are most obvious when you smile.
What Does Treatment Involve?
You will have a consultation to assess whether you are suitable for treatment; most patients over the age of 15 are suitable for this treatment. Once suitability has been determined, we will discuss and develop a treatment plan for you. We will show you how the treatment will work using a 3D animation and provide you with an image of how your teeth will look upon completion.
At Changing Faces®, we enjoy educating our patients and will provide all of the crucial and supplementary details on the 6 Month Smiles orthodontic system. This means that you can make an informed decision on your treatment option and be fully confident that it will deliver the perfect result.
The initial stages of treatment may cause slight discomfort as the teeth begin to shift from their original position. This should soon subside as you get used to the fit and feel of your appliance.
You will undergo regular check-ups every few weeks to assess how treatment is going. It is also recommended, once treatment is completed, that a retainer be worn to prevent the teeth from relapsing into their original position. To maintain your new smile, you will need to wear a retainer for life.
