Jane Sumner, Dental Nurse
NEBDN GDC No.114497
I am a highly experienced dental nurse who takes a great deal of pride in my work. I completed my National Certificate for Dental Nursing training at Birmingham Dental Hospital where I spent a large part of my formative years. This followed with a period in community dental nursing with the Local Health Authority, which then led to a number of years with various other private/NHS dentists in the period before I started a family.
As a senior dental nurse, I manage the smooth running of the Changing Faces® dental surgeries. I am part of a team of nurses skilled in supporting all aspects of dentistry. We ensure all equipment is in a safe working order, that the management of any medical emergencies is up to date, and we keep a very high level of infection control. Throughout my career I have pursued a continual programme of professional development including nursing for advanced implantology. I always strive not just to achieve the basic requirements, but to ensure we deliver the highest levels of care at all times.
Working chair-side with Changing Faces Dentist Steve Taylor I ensure that patient lists, laboratory work, patients' notes, X-rays and medical histories are all up to date and prepared for the start of the day’s work, so that each patient has an excellent experience. I have a great rapport with my patients, especially those who need support for any anxieties that they may have regarding treatment.
