I qualified as an anaesthetist at Nottingham University Medical School and then went on to further training in the West Midlands.
I gained a Fellowship in immediate medical care from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and a Fellowship from the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
I was previously the medical director of Midlands Air Ambulance and had experience as an air ambulance doctor.
I now work as a consultant anaesthetist at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, working on complex head and neck surgery and major trauma cases.
I’m also involved in pre-hospital medicine research, examining how sedation is used during early medical intervention.
